Giving Back to the Community is What Drives Corbin Crable in His Life

Corbin Crable

One of Corbin Crable's best attributes is his attention to detail, which probably comes from his extensive editing experience. For example, Corbin served as a copy editor with the Grand Island Independent newspaper in Central Nebraska. It could be said he was responsible for the entire newspaper. Not only did he edit articles for the local market and articles from the Associated Press for style, syntax grammar and spelling, but he also designed every front page, as well as pages in the local, opinion and sports sections. He also posted the content for the Independent's website at the end of the day.

With a long career in his rear view, Corbin Crable can point to a lot of experience in his background. He once served as a general assignment reporter and editor with the small Johnson County newspaper, The Gardner News. From there, he covered and wrote feature stories, but he also covered other news, especially regarding the local government, especially the school board. Even though his was primary a journalism job, he also helped design the pages for this twice-weekly publication and he uploaded every issue on their website at the end of every production cycle.

It is Corbin Crable’s most fervent desire to give back to the community, which he does as a volunteer social media coordinator for the Kansas International Film festival, where he uses Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages to share content with other like organizations. He also conducts promotions and contests. He also writes up a profile of each participating filmmaker and sponsoring business, to increase the positive impact of the Festival on the entire community.
